I was a bit hesitant in visiting this well reviewed restaurant due to some bad reviews. Yes it looks a bit touristy with its decor and the music but the food was really good, freshly prepared and authentic. The Pepian Soup was really tasty and the highlight of our meal. The bean stew with ribs and chorizo was filling and well seasoned and the grilled fish was crispy & juicy. So overall a very good dining experience which I would recommend to anyone who is curious about real Guatemalan food.

I was born and raised in Guatemala. I have also traveled across Guatemala trying many of our local dishes. With this in mind, I have to say that El Adobe is easily one of the best restaurants in Guatemala.

The food is absolutely incredible! Fresh ingredients, good seasoning, decent-size portions, and authentic flavors. I visited this restaurant three different times during my weekend stay at Antigua based on how good the food was! Each dish comes with freshly hand-made tortillas that are made with blue corn. If I had to recommend a dish, I would recommend that you try a dish that offers you a taste of our 5 iconic dishes. Their mole with sweet plantains is out of this world!

The restaurant has a rooftop, plays live music on weekends, and is well-decorated. The staff is very attentive, efficient, and very kind.
