The Cooperación Española, located in the old Colegio Compañia de Jesús complex, is a cultural center and institution that promotes Spanish culture and language in Guatemala. It is located in the heart of Antigua, in a colonial-era building that has been beautifully restored. Inside the complex are also the remains of the Church and Monastery dating back to the 17th century.
The center offers a range of cultural activities, such as exhibitions, concerts, conferences, and film screenings, as well as language classes and workshops. It also has a library with a collection of Spanish-language books and resources.
One of the main attractions of the Cooperación Española is its beautiful courtyard, which is a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city. The center is free to enter, and visitors are welcome to explore the exhibitions and attend the various events and activities offered. You can also learn more about el Colegio Compañia de Jesús, and take a photo in front of what remains of the 17th church and monastery.
Please note that many of the entrance fees for landmarks, parks, and museums are subsidized by the government for Guatemalan citizens. You may notice a price difference for foreigners.
