I was a little disappointed when I saw how tiny our room for 3 people was. It had a double bed and a twin and a tv and not much room for anything else. There is 1 bathroom and shower for 5 rooms upstairs. There was no TP in there when we first got there, and they supplied it pretty quickly. The shower curtain does not go all the way to the floor, so the floor gets wet. See my video. The double bed was old, it sagged in the middle, and my wife and i found ourselves constantly rolling into each other. The sheets were clean, so that is a plus. The internet was ok. The terrace has beautiful views of the volcanoes and la merced. The terrace was the highlight of my stay. My wife and I didn't sleep very well because of the bed. It was very quiet, though. Loved that. The staff was very helpful and informative. I forgot toothpaste, and they did not have anything at the front desk. The breakfast was a good tipic breakfast. Eggs made to order, beans, and fried plantains. My wife and i have pretty strict diets, so i asked if they could hard boil my eggs, and they were able to do that, i realize that is a bit inconvenient for them but they were able to accommodate my special request. The location is really great, nearby everything. I paid 87 USD for 1 night for this room. I have stayed in a few hotels in Antigua, and this is definitely at the bottom of my list. Last year, i stayed in a much nicer place near the Arch and only paid 65 USD. And the room had its own bathroom. I really like staying in these old colonial buildings. They have a lot of character, but this one leaves a lot to be desired.
