Nice hotel close to the city center. Clean rooms. Friendly personnel

Beautiful, historic hotel built on the ruins of a circa 1540s cow slaughterhouse (according to the night watchman). He pointed out cow vertebrae used in the floor decoration under the walkway to the rooms, many which showcase artifacts from that original building. Our room had glass plates covering a communal bathroom from that same time. Pros: just a couple of blocks from the main plaza square, great wifi, hot shower, amazing views of Agua, Fuego and Acatenango from the roof, super tasty breakfast! Cons: mosquitoes in the room. Not sure if from the gardens or moisture under the glass of the artifacts.

The location is unbeatable. It is close to everything in Antigua! The staff were also really really nice and helpful with everything we needed.

The downside is that I believe it needs refurbishment. Rooms have little to no natural light, and a lot of equipment didn’t work properly (lamps or phone not working, wi-fi is only good in common areas, etc. Also, rooms were not very sound proof and a lot of noise came from the street

I would prefer to rate this better because the service was very nice, we needed to leave the hotel before the breakfast starting time (heading to climb Acatenango) and we asked if it was possible to have some coffee ready by then. They prepared a full bag, for each of us, full of food and drinks, very nice of them. Sadly, the room, number 2, did not meet our expectations, a lot of things did not work, and you could hear even the whispers of people passing by in the street. There is a bar next to the hotel where live music is played every night… Also, the room is very very dark.
