Unique experience with an amazing travel agency The Acatenango tour with CA Travelers could easily be classified as a lifetime experience! From the amazing organisation before, during and after the trip to the amazing views this tour is highly recommended for anyone travelling to Guatemala.

Awesome!! I really couldn‘t decide on which company to hike up Acatenango with ... but I‘m happy I waited a little longer and came across CA Traveler! :))
First of all, it is super cheap for what they offer: 325Q for all the hiking equipment (winter clothes, headlamp; big tent for 2, comfy matress and warm sleeping bag which are up at the camp already; backpack and hiking booots if you ask for), the food (lunchbox; hot chocolate, dinner and breakfast at the camp; smoothie after returning) that can be made veggie, vegan or gluten-free depending on your needs, the friendly and trained guides that take you up and prepare your meals at the top and well — the whole experience of hiking up a volcano, seeing a very active one right in front of you all night and getting up early for probably the best sunrise I ever saw in my life!! (You‘ll have to pay 50Q extra as entrance fee and 5Q if you want a walking stick, which can highly recommend taking at least one of!). For 200Q extra we could have gone further to Fuego after arriving at the camp on Acatenango (in our case it was cloudy though).
Secondly, I personally love that they are very environmentally friendly and give you reusable lunch boxes and 3l camelbacks (which i forgot to mention above) to avoid trash.
And last but not least, all the staff is soo friendly and open for all your questions (I found it easiest to just go to their office at Vagamundo hostel in Antigua rather than chatting online).
Also the staff in Antigua speak English very well, if Spanish isn‘t your forte. 😉 The guides are doing well too, though a bit of Spanish is practical (and polite) to talk to them. But I also guess that there will mostly be a good Spanish-speaker in the group, who could help out.

What I would have liked personally is to just see all the information (like prices, itinerary etc) right away online to make it easier to compare. But I found all that out easily enough after asking at their office so that wasn‘t a big deal after all. :)

In the end I really recommend you to go up Acatenango with CA Travelers for a unique and unforgettable experience!!

Acatenango 2 day Hike I was very lucky. I looked online for companies doing Acatanango and they were all expensive. This time, my laziness and frugality paid off.... When I got to the hostel in Antigua I asked them about trips and the lady told me they offer it for Q350 through CA Travels. I was too lazy too search further and the price was almost half that of what I saw online. So I took it. Best decision ever.
C.A travels are amazing. The service is great. Faris and her boyfriend are amazing people. Professional,funny,open and have big hearts.
They support the local community in everything they do. From a local school to training the first woman guide ever in the area.
If you dont have the right gear for the hike, no worries, they offer everything, FREE OF CHARGE. Everything from hiking shoes to backpacks... And nice brands like Merrel and Columbia. I could not believe it.
They supply you with a water bladder, facemask, gloves and extra lining for your sleeping bag. Vital for the climb I might add. The guides were great, the food they give you were amazing. The campsite is great and the view over Fuego is awesome. The matresses are very thick in the tents and the sleeping bags are very thick and warm.
I still believe I paid so little for so much compared to the other travels. And some of your money goes to the improvement of the local community too.
I am always too lazy to write reviews most of the time, but I just had to write this one. I have been telling other travellers to use them and they all have the same feedback.

Fantastic Tour Company for Acatenango Volcano From the beginning to the end I felt as though CA Travelers thought of everything! Even by creating a what apps group for the morning pick ups was so helpful. We were provided with all the equipment we needed as well as a backpack as we didn’t have one the right size. It was ideal as you don’t always travel with hiking gear. The food was delicious, chicken and rice for lunch, pasta bolognese and garlic bread for dinner, and three choices for breakfast! Egg muffin, cereal and toast! The guides were fantastic, Leo spoke English which was useful and Fidel was very knowledgable. The thing I liked about CA Travelers was the story why they started the company and how they are trying to use their company to help the local communities too, by hiring guides and employees would wouldn’t necessarily get work elsewhere. ALSO, the company are trying to be as eco friendly, so all the food was in reusable containers. The base camp clean and nicely set out. Not near any other campsite. Enjoyed the hot chocolate and marshmallows. The 4am sunrise hike was tough, really tough, hiking in the dark, with strong winds is scary. ALSO loved that when we got back to the meeting point the next day we got given a delicious smoothie, great finishing touch! Farah one of the owners was comical which was great for settling any nerves!!! Muchas gracias!
