“We wanted a different flavor of food. We love Indian curries..found this gem!! From the street the restaurant is small and when we arrived all tables were taken..we expected to wait-no problem but 2 minutes later we were directed to an outside garden area shared with a different restaurant! WOW!! Live music was very pleasant and the garden is beautiful. The food choices are plentiful at Toko Baru which makes it challenging to order. We shared half orders of Falafel and sweet potato fries- incredible with garlic mayo! We each had a curry main..the flavor is authentic and so delicious!! I had pork and my husband had chicken. Amazing!! I highly recommend eating here. Staff are so friendly and pleasant and are really making a great attempt at learning English..we still spoke Spanish but our server replied in English. “The tandoori chicken pita is sensational! So good we came back twice (tandoori is better than peri peri but still good). Beautifully seasoned, gorgeous little potato cubes in the pita and the garlic aioli is delicious. Whoever picks the music knows what they’re at! Tune after tune” -Luke B.
